MEXICAN FOOD AND I....
I am a huge fan of Mexican food. You slap a sign that reads "Authentic Mexican Cuisine" and I am there. So imagine my delight when I moved to the new town and was advised that merely two blocks from me was the Viva Margarita Restaurant. I went on a two day fast so that I may enjoy the Fiesta that was to be consumed at Viva Margarita.
Upon entrance I was greeted by a rather loud and overwhelming music, but then I though "hey, when in Rome...". We were seated and offered a menu along with a very large drink menu. The drinks were rather overpriced but they were good. Not the water down versions, and we had a choice of tequila which could be used in mixing them. Freshly table made guacamole was delicious. Made to order, with exact level of spicy (or not - depending on your preference). I wish that I could say that the rest of the meal lived up to the guacamole, unfortunately it was a mediocre at best. As my Polish grandmother would say "Nothing to write home about." At first, I thought maybe it was just an off day so I returned twice more, only to be disappointed each time. The guacamole is a killer and worth stopping for. The rest is just blah.
Here is hoping that your experience goes beyond the table made guacamole....
